If there is one series you need to watch it's Kamen Rider W. The two main heroes Shotaro and Philip go together brilliantly, the story is filled with twists and turns and the villains are just as interesting as the heroes and many of them with actually get you to cry once it comes time for them to be axed off. Also, that ending... simply perfect. |

We're not counting the last episode..right? Because bringing Phillip back totally killed it for me. If it ended a single episode sooner it would have truly been perfect. Just like Ryuki would have been perfect if it ended 5-10 minutes sooner.

I'm fine with the idea, it's just the pacing and the execution that I have issues with.

If I had to recommend any KR series it would obviously be Gaim (the best yet without doubt), but since that's off the cards I'm a bit stuck. Tbh, I've enjoyed most. I'm very easy to please though, so I generally measure a show's worth on whether I watch it all the way through or not. W, Kiva, Hibiki and Den-O, while pretty good, I didn't finish them. Not sure why. You could quote pacing for some of them... but I've got no excuse on the W front. That's probably one you'll need to watch yourself. I'm quite fond of Blade, but even I can admit it's somewhat bland in places. Still, love the playing card theme and the mythology. OOOs wasn't perfect for me. Good, yes, but not top notch on all accounts. Final recommendations: W and OOOs are safe bets for humour and action. I personally prefer deeper and darker works, but that's just me ;-) |
