first of all im not keen on watching any of the older kamen rider series.
so i finished den-o and all its movies (my first kamen rider series... secon if you count dragon knight), and i have to say im a bit confused i thought all the different rider series were independant of each other... and yet in the movies i saw riders from other series! also after reading up a bit i saw that new and old riders appear in the current riders series a fair bit so is there an oder i should be watching kamen rider series in or just the movies? i ask this question because i want to watch gaim, wizard, fourze, w, 000, kabuto, hibiki and others without getting botched up on continuity so please help me figure this continuity stuff out! Really you can watch them in any order you like. The only times continuity really comes into play is the crossover movies covering Decade to Gaim, where half of it acts as an epilogue to the previous show.

There's really no order to watch them in, just watch whichever interests you the most. The only one I'd advise against watching before anything else is Decade, which is the 10th Heisei season and is meant to be watched after you've seen the first 9.
Also, again aside from Decade, which was an anniversary season, there really isn't any cameos from older riders. I have no idea where you got the idea that they showed up frequently in the newer seasons. In the Showa era there was a bit more overlap like that but nowadays the only time you see them interact at all is in the movies like Super Hero Teisen or something. Wizard had two episodes that took place after the season was over that featured the other riders, but that is a rarity.

You can pretty much watch them in any order you want. It doesn't really matter. You could watch OOO and then watch Black RX if you felt like it.

Yup, the order doesn't really matter. Start with whichever one you like and then pick all those who appeal the most to watch first or, if you don't have series that don't catch your interest in particular, start with the series you consider a good starting point and try watching back- or forwads chronologically.
The chronological thing was what I did so far when I watched anything from Decade and before. |

Watch Decade, and use that as a jumping off point for what you want to watch next (Though a minor warning is that Decade spoils twists in some series).
If you don't want to go into a series with the possibility of knowing how a major plot twist will play out, then I'd hold off on Decade. If you intend on sticking with Heisei series, then remember that Kuuga-Hibiki tend to be tonally darker compared to Den-O and onward. But for the question at hand, there is no real order to watch. You can go banana nut crazy in terms of order ![]()

You can watch them in any order based off of what interests you most. Be it rider motif or do a quick skim through the general plot of each series. What I did was start from Den-O, then realized I like the KR franchise and started back at Decade and made by way up based off a show's release while skipping a few shows that didn't interest me at all. So like I watched Den-O, then the show that followed it and so on. Every once in a while I took a break to watch some of the older stuff like Black RX.

There's really only four series' you should watch back to back. Kamen Rider Black and Kamen Rider Black RX, because RX is the sequel to Black. And Kamen Rider Kuuga and Kamen Rider Agito, because Agito is the spiritual successor to Kuuga. The rest you can pretty much watch in whatever order you'd like. But if you're just getting in to Kamen Rider's I'd suggest watching Kamen Rider OOO, Fourze, or W. The Showa stuff (Kamen Rider - Kamen Rider J) tends to be darker. While the Heisei and Neo-Heisei stuff (Kamen Rider Kuuga to Kamen Rider Gaim) Tends not to be. Except Faiz. Faiz is just dark, and Gaim is dark but in a very wonderful amazing way of awesome.

He stated he wasn't interested in watching any of the older series, so I'm assuming he only wants Kuuga onwards.
And Kuuga isn't dark? Didn't we have a raging argument concerning how Kuuga was the darker than the blackest void 2 weeks ago?
