Brian Cranston Vs. Godzilla.
I honestly have no idea who would win that fist fight. |

And they pointed out what MIGHT be Rodan or something that looks like him in this movie.
I heard awhile back that Legendary couldn't get the rights for any other previously seen monster aside from, well, Godzilla himself. But I am hoping that they said that to surprise us and that this is our first glimpse at another familiar monster in this movie. It's not likely, but I'd love to see them surprise us with Rodan or really ANY familiar enemy monster. Maybe if this film does well enough, those Gigan and Megalon designs can be put to use in a sequel. And on one more note, while I appreciate the little nod to the original Godzilla, saying that this one was awakened in 1954, I'm just wondering how Japan managed to keep Godzilla under wraps for sixty years. Kinda seems like something that would be hard to hide, let alone contain. |

For the first time in my whole 12 year long life, my favorite movie monster has left me completely terrified. And I LOVE IT.

That's the problem though. Most people expect to see Godzilla and nothing but,yet many of the best Godzilla movies out there do focus on the humans, and their struggle during his fights.
I do want to see the big guy on screen a lot more then usual, but if it has no characters in it then it'll basically be a watered down Pacific Rim.And seeing how well Pacific Rim did in the eyes of most major papers, that would mean no sequel. I want this to be a success, and if that means that there has to be focus on some characters as well as Godzilla, then so be it.I mean they got Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe. That right there should tell you that they're thinking "Yeah,we have to have humans, but damn if were not going to pick some of the best for the job." |

Seen every movie pal, it's more to do with the way they were shooting him in the scenes than who's perspective its from. Take the first movie in the Heisei series, we're following through the human's stories. However, when we get to Godzilla it then makes him the center. Godzilla enters and they attack and he retaliates. The scenes show Godzilla and then the tanks and everything else coming in. The scenes in the trailer have you following the humans and then Godzilla appears and it clearly makes him the bad guy. The lines should be blurred more, it's obvious that a giant lizard monster is a threat. The older movies do a great job of making you feel his side too though, blurring the lines of the victim and aggressor.
this won't be like jaws where you barely see the shark. also, in the broderick godzilla.. we saw a pretty good amount of godzilla, and they definitely gave you the enemy/victim feeling.. i can't imagine this won't end up having the same feel. i just don't understand how anyone wouldn't be pumped after seeing this trailer. it looks like they've done similar things that the broderick godzilla film did, but better.. and then some. i actually enjoyed the broderick godzilla movie .. for what it was. but this looks a million times better.. and i think the trailer was done VERY well. it gives off that ominous feeling that you should get when you see him for the first time. the sympathy shouldn't develop until we get deep into the movie. but, until then, he should be portrayed as a monster. the shot of the head that we see in the trailer is AWESOME looking. i just wish the spines were larger. |

I understand Civil's point, but like tim said it's a trailer.Even if he was the main focus and the only thing shown in the movie,he's eye candy. They wouldn't show him anyway.
I trust Legendary. They know what they're doing and I do believe that it will be one,if not the biggest movie of the year. Also in the first Godzilla movie,he was a threat. These guys want to show that he is a force of nature, nigh unstoppable. In the trailer you see the Marines shooting up flares. What if they're leading him to one of the other monsters?
