Kyoryuger is definitely fun, with high production values if entertainment is all you're after then Kyoryuger is one of the best. But it's also shallow, like really shallow, and as such by the end the sheer quantity of wasted potential is hard to ignore.

Also, if you're okay to torrent GUIS is doing V2s of Liveman, basically it's the same show but with DVD quality rips. The quality of the original Liveman rips is more than watchable but obviously isn't great. Also Timeranger is great but to this day about three quarters of the series is only subbed with summaries from plot blurbs. So although you'll get a complete experience some of the translations are well...sorta...well made up.

Each Sentai does things differently. Some series explain their powers right from the get go, others do not. If every series did the same thing over in the same manner, there would be no point to it. |

They explain it as the show goes along. The nice thing about Dai is they build up everything, it isn't just handed to them on a silver platter. DaiRanger is also a very story driven show so it does not feel like there are huge chunks of filler the way ZyuRanger did.

It makes sense though, why have two series in a row that are really similar?

I figured it would explain things as it goes, but I meant I didn't like how it started. Everybody just instantly knew what to do without any explanation. They start chasing down the female ranger, and as soon as they meet her she can already transform and stuff? It kinda bothered me.

The ending is the worst part of Dairanger, in about the last ten episodes the show decides to have a plot, in the last couple or so episodes it gives a massive middle finger to the audience. Dairanger, more so than perhaps anything else, is a show that you should NOT believe the hype in.

I finished the show because the action and the suits etc are well done, but now I've seen shows like Kyoryuger where it provides all the fun WITHOUT the middle finger, Dairanger just isn't worth it.

I just watched the first episode of Kakuranger and found it MUCH more enjoyable than Dairanger. I think i'll stick with this.
