Power Rangers Super Megaforce Episode 5 Preview

The dialogue was babyish and dumb, and not delivered in any kind of dramatic way. Considering the world is being fucked up right now by the Armada, this SHOULD have been epic.

They come down to the centre of the city, in person because they are just that confident, and announce themselves and as people are running away screaming the Rangers remain stood where they are, inspiring other people to stand tall too before calling the Armada's bluff.

Instead we get the equivalent of "you're a smelly poopoo head." delivered with less emotion than auto tuning.... in a back alley. It makes both the villains and the heroes feel LAME.

To be fair, the back alley problem is still there in Gokaiger too, just that we SEE the Kuroko evacuating the area as Kaoru holds back the Zangyack. It wasn't the best place to land for Warz Gill either, because the only audience was Kaoru, Tanba and the Kuroko. If its any consolation, the upcoming fight makes some pretty good use of the surrounding cars and balconies, although some of it was unmorphed.

The dialogue, however, was still pretty awful. Still not QUITE as bad as Jake's trophy of awfulness that was "Malkor? How do you even spell that? M-A-L-What?", which I don't even get.

Still, I'm hoping we'll get some decent original footage. The on-scene pictures we got way back when of them using the Lost Galaxy suits was from this episode and the image of Argus fighting Troy unmorphed would also probably be from this episode, considering the original Gokaiger plot involved Marvelous getting seriously injured protecting Joe from Barizorg. It still sort of sucks that this isn't a two parter. The upcoming fight was the Gokaiger's first real loss and having an episode of them sort of building up for the rematch was something you don't usually have in Sentai so early in the series.

Yeah this is the one case where I'm not getting the degree of hate from everyone either.... Grating dialogue aside, the scene doesn't reveal a whole lot about anything to me.

Got the reference, sadly I feel your pain, I genuinely found a lot to like in Power Rangers for a lot of years, including disney, but this crap is utterly killing it for me.

Does anyone know how the ratings are doing. I know there was something like a 12% drop from ep 1 to 2.
