Well, got caught up to Flamenco 19 & 20. Man poor Gotto. Never would have suspected that about him at all. Very strange indeed. As for this new arc that's begun, what the hell is wrong with Hazama? Is he really imagining this kid?
The universe told him that aliens and monsters and all the great villains he ever dreamed of fighting would never appear again. But the universe never said anything about regular human evil. And is Flamenco really the source of it? How did this kid attack the Flamengers and everyone else all at once if he isn't real? Crazy stuff yet again.

Omg I know. I really feel like it got good again. I didn't care for the Alien Flamenco hand waving either, but now that it's back to "reality"... Some interesting things are happening. But especially with Goto. And the explanation for him really could apply to Hazama imagining the kid, as was implied... It does still leave one wondering how it all happened, which is why I can't wait to see more.
I do enjoy what we're seeing now too. Again this show is the heaviest of parody/tributes. Seeing as tokus rarely give us the long aftermath of a heroes' battle against evil. this show is showing us how mundane that could be. Aside from extraordinary circumstances, or in this case the innate evil of humanity reasserting itself. It's very interesting indeed.

HeartCatch Precure episode 4:
It was pretty good, but I feel like having Tsubomi already question their partnership was really weird, I think we should've gotten that probably in the next episode or two, or have this be a 2 episode arc, and the conversation the two tennis girls had at the end should've been between Tsubomi and Erika. So...I would give it a 7 out of 10.

Kill la Kill 12.
This was a nice return to form, for a show that seemed to lose its way a bit. This episode returned it to the loving subversion of its genre that I always enjoyed it for. Plus, as ever, it introduced just enough interesting original ideas to keep its own sense of identity as it near on parodies so many other shows.

I just cannot get into Space Dandy. I've watched the first six episodes so far and it just isn't working for me as there are no consequences for anyone's actions. Everything is reset by the next episode off screen.

There's also no apparent continuity or flow to the show. Like episode 1 was just bizarre for the sake of it. And they all were supposed to die in that explosion. Then magically everything is exactly back to normal in episode 2. The show has flare, but not much else in my opinion.

If you can get behind the fact that there's no flowing story in Space Dandy, it has some really standout episodes that are great for different things. Episodes 4 and 7 are comedy highlights, episode 9 has been the best for art and then episode 5 is just flawless in every right (seriously, I thought episode 5 was brilliant and showed it can do more than just off the wall comedy). I think this is a show that really is best suited for watching weekly, because marathoning it you would begin to expect something more flowing. Right now the only lingering complaint about continuity I have is with Dr Gel and the Gogol Empire, because so far they haven't actually added ANYTHING to the show.
Anyway, Kill la Kill 22. I despise the phrase "feels" but man this episode had them. Since Ryuko's stopped being crazy she's gone back to being the protagonist I loved, while Satsuki/the Elite Four are just continuing to grow and grow. That apology scene coupled with the meal was just fantastic.. I think Satsuki has been my favourite character from a new show in a LONG time. If Figma were to go all out and do multiple versions of her (Uniform, Junketsu, Senketsu, Nudist Beach, Badass Trenchcoat), I'd happily buy them all. Really hope they do a Medicom of her now too. Spoiler tagged for Locke (and anyone else catching up)'s sake!
