Unpopular opinion time: I don't really think Bionicle was that great in hindsight. The aesthetics don't click with me anymore, and I don't think the story was that amazing(not like I knew or even remember what was happening).
Hero Factory's cool though.

For what it was which was a a lego subline that usually don't last beyond 2-3 years its story was great. Espiecally for a line aimed at kids. It did get a little mdded if you didn't keep up with the books but it was pretty solid

The first one, Mask of Light and boy was I disappointed with the animation in it. looked to organic to be bionicle. they got it right with the last one with Mata nui but no one really likes that apparently

Well, in the story, the Toa/ Matoran/ Turaga/ Rahi/ ect. were biomechanical beings. Part organic, and part machine.
