I'd like to think it was because Japan aired that dub of SPD.

If they wouldn't have had to make it come with the Wrapper, just imagine the good items we could've gotten. We could've gotten a detailed Murphy, We could've gotten some form of the battle armor. We might've even gotten him to transform into the bazooka all the rangers use. SWAT mode parts. D-Knuckles, the D-Revolver, and the list continues. Instead we have to get peices for a weapon from another show completely, that doesn't even look that good to start with.
And I know what you're thinking. "Sentai, the Party Pooper". No. I like the suit designs from Akibaranger, especailly Blue. I like Blue to the point I almost asked for her from Kick instead of Goseiknight. Almost. I like the Z-Moe Gun/Henshin device. So I'm not down on the entire series. I'm just down on them needing to add something some of us will never use. There are alot of collecters that will buy this, because they love Dekaranger, and now are stuck with giant handcuffs they'll never use. Because they have no interest at all in Akibaranger. And the same thing for Boukenger, and Jetman. Just wasted space for something they could've included with the Akibarangers. Or sold seperately as a web exclusive, Bandai likes web exclusives. Just seems a waste to me. And it also makes them have to use a bigger box, which adds weight, which increases shipping. So you're also paying more for something you might never use. All 3 of these tie in figures come with a pretty normal amount of accessories, I don't think they would have come with more if it wasn't for Akibaranger. |

Looks cool, but now sure if want...

The thought of them coming with SWAT parts would probably put me off them to be honest. It would either need so many extra limbs it would be better just to release a different figure (which they are doing by the looks of it) or clip-on pieces which are just going to restrict the articulation, which is part of the reason I'd be buying it in the first place.

Dekared looks sweet.
[Insert bitching over lack of Geki] I'm kinda tempted to pick him up, but I'll hold off. Make an SPD Orange, on the other hand... |

I think you'll be waiting for Geki for a long, long time. Gekiranger wasn't a popular series in Japan.
