Actually, in a meta sense, Tommy becoming Dino Thunder Black is a brilliant nod at continuity. Black isn't a colour, but the absence of all others, with that in mind it almost perfectly fits with the internal identity crisis Tommy is having as we find out in the Fighting Spirit two parter.

I'm so happy that Austin St. John is back! My childhood favorite from MMPR. Hopefully he continues making con appearances so I have a chance to meet him, and get him to sign a SHF Red Ranger figure. Just so amazing. God I sound like a greedy nerd, welcome back ASJ you've been missed!

It's great to see ASJ back in the community. Hopefully I will now get to meet him at a con (even if it means traveling to it) as I have always wanted to meet him. If this leads to him being in Dino Charge then its just an added bonus I'm just glad he's back.
