First 009 being a exclusive and now Kikaider. He's a classic character, I would imagine a retail release would sell very well. I think a retail release could work in the US since he was big in Hawaii and casual people might remember him from the animated series on Cartoon Network.

Man I'm really starting to hate the whole exclusive thing. It's not like it's tough anymore but it really feels money grabby, I think he'd do fine in normal retail.

But it isn't money grabby and it wouldn't do better at retail. The whole point of exclusives is that they wouldn't do well enough to sell in mass numbers at retail. So you release them as exclusives, the price is a bit higher to offset the smaller production run of a limited figure.

Kikaider, while it certainly has it's fans, isn't going to sell at the same level that a mainline rider SHF's would or even the original Ultraman Ultra-Act. This figure has a far more limited scope, only having fans from 3 decades ago to go on since the characters new film hasn't even been released yet. It just makes sense.
