![]() Never before released Hi-Res images of some past released figures. To this date, the highest unaltered resolution of Garuda was around 500x500. Additionally, Fire Rodan only had a select few photos in Hi-Res form. In our album we were even missing promo stills. Now this has been rectified with a complete Hi-Res album! Thanks goes out to the folks at Bandai Japan for providing these images. Check them out! |

![]() ![]() http://shmaseries.blogspot.com/2014/...-ultimate.html http://shma-articulationseries.com/u...ses.html#swfx2 You may be asking yourself. But where was the Toho Ultimate Weapons Set 1? Even more of a mystery, was there even a Godzilla Effects 1? How does the number "2" work with these releases? Simple. Back in 2012, Bandai Tamashii Nations released an exclusive set, here known as the Toho Ultimate Weapons & Godzilla Effects Set. At the time, Bluefin Distribution's involvement with the S.H.MonsterArts line was just beginning and was unable, or didn't think it was a strategic marketing move, to bring over this web exclusive set to NA. So a lot of us here in the USA missed out on this set. You can still find it today, but the prices are heavily inflated due to it's being OOP for the last couple of years. The good news is that this may all change in the future. Bluefin just announced that for the first time EVER that they're going to reissue a Web Exclusive, purely for the Western Market. Depending on how well it does it could pave a way to our beloved Garuda & the Toho Ultimate Weapons & Godzilla Effects Set. The figure they're renewing is a DBZ Goku. So lets hope DBZ fans buy it up like crazy. As stated before, this is a FIRST for the company to reissue a WEB EXCLUSIVE. We can only cross our fingers. |

The possibility this opens up for maybe Garuda or the first G-Force set - is that based on your own speculation or comments from Bluefin?

The thing is before when the subject of the two first web exclusives was brought up, it was generally panned with a, "Yeah, it's not going to happen. If it's a web exclusive it only has one run and that it. This subject just needs to be dropped as it's just a sour topic." This is what they've said to me the past year and a half. I stopped bring it up late in 2013, probably around October. Since then, internally Tamashii and Bluefin have undergone some new staffing, so perhaps this is the doing of that new staff?
I have no official comment on whether or not this decision bodes well for Re-Issues of Garuda and the Toho Ultimate Weapon & Godzilla Effects Set 1. Tamashii and Bluefin know that the NA consumer base wants these collectibles. Sounds like they're giving the DBZ fan base a test drive though. |

What little I do know of the Goku reissue is that the impetus for this decision has a lot to do with European demand and that partner with Bandai being much newer than Bluefin, so I think a lot of it was desire to cater to them first, adding to the fantastic DBZ sales in the US (and combating bootlegs in general?) second. I will absolutely not complain if this policy broadens from here on out though, because Garuda is ridiculous. The first G-Force set may not be that bad and most of its parts being reused certainly helps, but could still be better.
Appreciate your input on the matter, I love hearing little details like this and wish geography was more on my side to get involved with what Bluefin does myself.

Figuarts Zero Super Saiyan Goku - obviously, elaboration on that should be for the non-toku SHF thread.
