How he lost his face is explained in the first volume of the New 52 Detective Comics. Him being a cable man or rather dressing as one is all explained in death of the Family.

No, Adam West atleast had a sense of humor. The N52 Joker is just the latest example of what's wrong with N52. Like what they did to Starfire, and Catwoman.

Speaking of Batgirl, they rereleased Killing Joke a few years back didn't they? I might have to brush up on it since it's still a part of Batgirl's continuity somehow.

Read more Batgirl on the way to work, the scenes with Nightwing were confusing to say the least. It seems she has more history than the whole universe at this point.
