I've been thinking about getting into Sentai for a bit now and I'm not super sure where to start, figured this might be the place to get some answers. My current tokusatsu experience is a couple Kamen Rider series (Agito, Kabuto and most of Ryuki) and a bunch of Power Rangers back in the day, so I have a decent idea of what to expect but I need help figuring out which are the good and bad in the series. Id like to find something that's a good balance of serious story and fun/cool shenanigans but I'll settle for something that someone says is the best starter.

I would say based on what you'd like to find, maybe a show like Dairanger, Kakuranger, Megaranger, and Go-Busters could be a good start. They can be serious quite a bit at times (especially Dai) but are also able to produce a lot of light hearted and comedic moments.

Some nice starting series are Zyuranger, Megaranger, Dekaranger, Gekiranger, or Kyoryuger.
The best way to get into a show is to find a Sentai that looks appealing and to hop right in, though.

Tensou Sentai Goseiger. Good story, better characters, and one of the single best villains ever to grace a Sentai. Bureduran No Comet.

I think if you want to go with something newer, Gekiranger or SHinkenger is a great place to start. But I think all recent series have their great points and are all easy to get into.

Yeah, Deka was my gateway drug into Super Sentai and what convinced me to see it was watching Dekamaster's debut scene on Youtube.

Depends, I've given up on SS long ago though the one that got me into the whole thing was Shinken.

Thanks a bunch folks, I think I'll go for Dekaranger, was kinda leaning toward it or Abaranger anyways so it made the decision way easier
