That theory was asked during a panel a year ago, Monty said they weren't directly inspired or anything of sorts but some were down along the lines at the same time were if that makes any sense.

Fun fact I made a tumblr, twitter and Instagram all due because of RWBY. Ta-da, RWBY made me used more social media apps, even though I don't really use them

I just them as RWBY news feed pretty much.

My Facebook is connected to like 7 RWBY like pages and I think I am an admin of a RWBY group lol. My Tumblr is all like RWBY and Kamen Rider lol.
