Haven't been able to play too much and have only unlocked I think half of the secrets so far...

Unlocking alternate moves is pretty random, you get them from the roulette in Classic Mode or in Smash Run or from Trophy Rush. In Classic Mode they can show up from getting the wrench icon in roulette. No idea on Smash Run and Trophy Rush though, I've never played either of those modes.

I'm still working on getting the last two characters (Bowser Jr. and Jigglypuff) myself. I should have had them by now but I've been really busy and unfortunately haven't had time to play more than a few matches at a time. Hopefully over the weekend I'll get everything unlocked.

When you play Classic, on the roulette wheel, there's a wrench icon. That unlocks equipment (Costume bits for Mii fighters, attack/speed/defense items, and alternate attacks).
You can get them in other game modes too, such as Trophy Rush (The Equipment falls a lot less often in Trophy Rush compared to, well, trophies, but it's still available), and Smash Run (Which they're random drops from treasure chests)

Bowser Jr. is a lot easier to get than Jigglypuff, but both can be a pain in the ass to unlock.
