So after being curious about the franchise for about a year now, reading its TvTropes page a couple times (without spoilers of course) & seeing some common links between it & the fictional story franchise I hope to create in the future, I've decided to start watching Pretty Cure at some point. Anything I should know before I start?

So, it's super badass, but also super sweet due to the whole magical girl thing. Have you chosen a starting point? Many of us here started with HeartCatch, and I recommend it 100% |

Yeah Heartcatch is a good one to start with. Suite and Smile are also good ones to jump in with.

I've heard HeartCatch & DokiDoki were very good drop-ins for people because of their apparent realistic feel. But I feel like starting in order from 2004 onward. Like, me knowing Digimon as much as I do, I would NEVER advise someone new to the franchise to see Tamers first because it sets the bar too high. And when all the other seasons don't match up they'll get disappointed. I'm really afraid of spoiling myself with the supposed "best" Pretty Cure has to offer as a starting-point, so I'll go from the original in a straight line. I felt like with KR I could do that but then Double got my siblings' attention & now I'm spread all across the franchise. ^^; Starting from the beginning will give me a better understanding of how Pretty Cure started & how it's evolved over the years. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Where are some good places to watch a Pretty Cure series? I want to see if I can get my college's anime club to watch it.

Gundam Unicorn episode 1
Yes, I'm watching it again despite the fact I finished it like a month ago. But I'm watching it in English and on DVD this time. For some reason, this time around Unicorn felt a lot more comedic, especially in the first half. Don't know if that's just the English Voices or what..... I like the dub, everybody sounds right, and I like Banagher's sexy semi-deep voice he's got going on. And Micott's voice sounds like Rise from Persona 4, as if she didn't resemble her already lol. Asides from like 2 sentences that needed another word to make them sound correct, the translation is perfect. Episode 2 Holy fuck the guy who voices Full Frontal sounds like if Japanese Char was speaking English and was a white guy. I like how they manage to justify the "Boy falls into giant robot with no experience and pilots it well" with in-show mechanics. With him being the only one able to pilot the Unicorn and the Destroy Mode being controlled by his mind gets around the inexperience thing yet still has some ridiculously good fights between an experienced pilot and a noob. Too bad the Lapalace Box didn't have that much thought put into it. Last edited by Powerman293; 10-23-2014 at 06:20 PM.. |

And I've FINALLY completed Wing. I compare it to Blade in the sense that it was exciting at times but was mostly one big mehish/fairly boring show. Though to Blade's credit, it didn't have me excited only twice.
