![]() You mean, uhh, those Bandai Samurai Trooper figures right there? Unless, I suppose, you meant you want Figuarts versions on top of these, which isn't likely. The Armor Plus line covered all of the main heroes, two different versions of the Inferno armor, and Mukara from the OVA. I don't know how well the line did, but since it never covered Talpa or the Dark Warlords, it's probably done regardless.

Oh good, it's not just me. I'm sure there had to be some when the only retail figure (Ryo) came out, but the one comparison I can find puts them at about the same size as Marvel Legends, so depending on pose they will stick out a little bit unless next to the oversized guys like Akaranger, Ultimate Kuuga or the Shocker Combatman.
There's a Shin right now with four days to go on eBay, but that will probably skyrocket.

I really hope to someday replace the old Playmates version I have- it may have been a good figure back in the day, but dear god does it need to be replaced before it disintegrates like all the others I had. 'Course granted that the series seems not all that popular or even remembered in its native land, any form of revival or anniversary outside of the Armor Plus figures is about as likely as a meteor of extremely rare metal landing on my lawn, but ain't that the way it goes? Ah well...

I own all of them, well except I only have the 2nd versions of both of Ryo's armors. I'll get out black inferno tonight and take pictures. I don't think they are too tall, if they are it's from being armored. I feel like they are probably a bit tall.. but idk.. we'll know later.
As for line vitality.. black inferno came out this summer so it's not dead. This is how it goes. Random reveals.. and about 1 figure a year or two.. |

Can you imagine having the Ronin Warriors, Sailor Scouts, and Z Fighters all in scale with each other and with not-shitty articulation and screen-accurate designs?
Everyone who grew up on Toonami's, and by extension, anime's, breakout lineup would be in the poorhouse in a matter of seconds. But the shelf-based shipping wars would be spectacular. I can only imagine that CLAMP is laughing their collective asses off over this, especially assuming it was intentional. Clever girls... Of course, I haven't been as big into anime and manga as I used to be back then.

The ArmorPlus line I think is like the Saint Seiya EX size. I'm Thinking 1:10 scale, though I could be wrong. If Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors were to be done as Figuarts, the armor gimmick would be gone. And I think they'd be hell in articulation & paint, and still be profitable. But what a line of figures..... |

So according to MFC Sage is 6.24", so I'm guessing they all are. So definitely bigger, but I wouldn't consider them a different scale. Just taller because they're armored. Idk though, it depends how you want them to be in relation to the average figuart.
I consider them close enough. Oh yeah, toonami all the way right here. My collection is Ronin Warriors, DBZ, Sailor Moon, and G/Gundam Wing heavy. The majority of what I collect is because of my childhood t.v. shows. Last edited by Sciencefriction; 11-07-2014 at 06:01 PM.. |
