So with the mix of Kikaider reboot getting a US release and getting my AkaRanger Figuarts that got me to thinking. They've done A Kamen Rider reimagining, Kikaider is out and about, and Inazuman kinda getting a reboot (That was tied in to Forze but still closer to the Manga than the original show). Do you think that a Himitsu Sentai Gorenger movie could be possible with the 40th anniversary being next year (April 5). I would honestly love to see an updated and darker take on the show like Kamen Rider the First and Kikaider reboot. Now I didn't mention Gavin though it does work mostly because it is not a Shotaro Ishinomori creation

I'd actually really like to see a The First-esque take on sentai. Bonus points if Saban adapts it into Power Rangers: The Movie 2.

Well Kikaider REBOOT apparently bombed, so it depends how keen Toei are to try something like that again I guess.

Same. As much as I would like to see updated looks of the five rangers, considering how Kamen Rider and Kikaider performed to the mainstream audience it is grim.

Kamen Rider the Next also tanked. At this point I can't imagine that Toei has much interest in another 70s tokusatsu reboot film.

Should they nut up and make a reboot movie, which audience should they cater to, the younger audience who haven't seen it, or the older audience watching out of nostalgia/the older audience looking for a serious toku movie?

that depends, to which of the parts you mentioned did the kikaider reboot and kamen rider:the first cater for?

Not having seen Kikaider reboot yet but Kamen Rider the first seemed go for both serious/nostalgia view and i enjoyed the movie it bought me back to Kamen Rider, because Kamen Rider Dragon Knight made me not want check out the japanese stuff. Learning how bad the movies have did i'm not holding my breath but from what i understand as a kikaider fan that movie up until the reveal at the end of Super Hero Taisen Z was thought that was never going to happen
