I would have let one of them keep the sonic arrow. Probably Zangetsu, since Bows were a more important part of a samurai's arsenal than swords.

I agree with Sigurd having the twin-balled flail and Marika having a scimtar or two. Those choices fit well with both the themes of the suits and the characters.

I disagree with Locke on Duke having a huge sword though. A giant Final Fantasy style sword does not suit the Duke armour or Ryouma's character at all. Ryouma strikes me as the kinda guy who would fight smart and go for quick surgical strikes and competent defence over brute strength and smashing everything. I actually think a longsword and shield combo, like KR Mars, would suit Duke's knight theme and Ryouma's character best. And Duke is the one set of powers that really has to fit it's user to make any logical sense, since Ryouma directly designed the suit for himself.

The Sonic Arrows have a purpose. If you look at the Energy Riders, and their lop-sided suits, and then look at Archers from the Sengouku period, they look alot alike. If you ignore the fruit motif, obviously.

You are absolutely right, though there is an in show logic to it. These are the final product Drivers. The functionality of these belt should be identical and the different suits are just cosmetic. A bow with great range that can double as a melee weapon would be very useful after the apocalypse. Thus that is the weapon that is uniformed.

That said, it doesn't make it any less lame that 6 unique characters have the same weapon regardless of the reasons. These characters are awesome and they deserve equally awesome weapons.

I agree that it doesn't fit Duke. How about a halberd (or some other pole axe) for Duke? I can see Duke wanting some range to keep himself distant in close combat.

They should keep the Sonic Arrows but also have unique weapons.

I agree that Marika should get those Arabian Swords and Sigurd should get and Axe. Duke should get a flail. And Shin Zanegtsu should just get an upgraded Musou Saber or somthing that looks more like a Katana.

Also, is it just me, or is it not the perfect idea to have the back piece from the fruit transformation be where the energy Riders put thier arrows when not in use? Seriously, think about it, that's a hell of a lot more practical then them holding it all the time.

Seems like nobody listens to fans anymore. We seem to be low on their worldview and let's face it while the Sonic Arrow makes sense with how the Inves are having backup weapons wouldn't hurt.

That would be seriously awesome, because the Sengoku Driver uses physical weapons you could see how "Final" The Energy Riders are, if they get laser versions of the original weapon set - with a few personal tweaks and upgrades too of course.

He's also the type to trick his opponents, and the type to show off quite a bit. So something a bit more... cunning might be called for.

So I propose a scepter fitting of his "station" as a ruler... that extends into a halberd. Or possibly forms an energy blade somewhere from the top or bottom.

I digged Dukes upgraded Sonic Arrow in the one episode of Gaim, I can that being his permanent weapon an upgrade sonic arrow.
