The suits work well with the concept, the many nods to kung fu films from the Shaw Brothers' Five Venoms to the Japanese dub VAs of prominent kung fu film actors(i.e. Ishimaru Hiroya who primarily does Jackie Chan voice dubs playing a kung fu master named Sharkie Chan), high energy opening, nice fight choreography, Ishida Akira playing the role of a talking fly who doubles as a commentator during the mecha battles, and Mele.

Would probably be my answer.

7 at a minimum:

5 to form the main giant robo (one for each ranger)

6th Ranger mecha that can fight solo as well as combine with other 5.

7th Auxilliary mecha, can serve as a carrier (think King Brachion/Titanus or Daimugen/Tor), and combine with everything else for final/ultimate mecha.

That said, I have a soft spot for excessive formations like G-12 and Samurai HaOh. It's why I won't hear a word against ToQ Rainbow.
