Enjoyed this thing. Definitely not what I'd like to pay to see in the theater, but still fun to watch. I loved the interpretation of the green ranger shield and other elements of the cinematography, but my favorite plot point was the child soldiers theme. This was awesome! A higher intelligence recruits teenagers to fight his war? How would that effect the world and the recruits themselves? That's the only thing I would like to see in any more "adult" interpretations of PR in the future.

Has anyone caught the magazine cover about "Real Love" on Billy's office wall that shows him holding another man? The fandom hasn't lost their shit over that one yet so it's only a matter of time.

I guess I have to commend the thought they put into crafting the story, but it missed the mark in every single way. Unnecessarily dark and gory, turning heroes into villains etc. It represents just about everything I hate about Hollywood remakes these days. And despite somehow getting a big name like Katee Sachoff on board, she still gave a flat and uninspired performance. That said, if this thing really IS meant as parody/commentary then its both genius and depressing. The general consensus for this video from non-fans who grew up with MMPR is shocking. The idea that everything from your childhood has to grow up with you is nauseating. I'm not convinced that is the case at all though, it all sounds like backtracking to me. You could make that kind of point on a fraction of the budget and effort. This just has "make a popular viral video" written all over it.

This just isn't for me. I'm not going to sit here and rail against it. You enjoy it then more power to you. This just isn't my thing. One thing is I paused it at the Megazord scene at the start and that is a cool design for the combined mecha. I'd love to see a clean shot. It just seems like it was dark and violent for the sake of being dark violent. Does that make sense? |

I thought it was kinda cool...I did like the brief mecha fight in the intro and some of the concepts (Rocky "never one of us"). The slight twist...and I really liked the fight with Zack. I put it in the same level as Mechanical Violater Hakaider honestly...just turn off your brain and embrace the level of insanity.

Guess nudity being asscoiated with the franchise, even with a fan film, brought Saban's ban hammer down. Considering how big this is getting (I saw this twice on my twitter feed from casual Power rangers fans) Saban is not gonna risk it damaging the brand.
