I dont either. Its just a bad attempt at being serious and completely not understanding what makes something serious. Just making your piece overly dark, violent and filled with drugs doesnt make it serious.

I haven't seen this at the time of this posting, but I have to ask: What is the point to all of this? I've read the "front page" article here and on another side and I don't get the intention. Is this social commentary over Hollywood and the constant "darkness" and "seriousness" or is it that Power Rangers is darker than it suggests with having a bunch of kids fight an alien threat? That said, if I have time, I'll look. Either way, the ACTUAL reboot movie should not take an ultra-dark tone at all. Power Rangers is an animal unto itself and should not be viewed in the same "real world" aspect as other franchises. If one wants to make it more "adult", look at R-Rated films only as a source of inspiration. The reboot should be no more than a kid-friendly "Pulp Fiction". The violence doesn't need to follow the flash and flair of Micheal Bay and HIS Transformers movies, nor should it have all of the harsh language or adult situations of Tarantino; keep such matters to a minimum at best. As for fan films, other people wanting to do their own interpretation (S.P.D. Green's old idea?) should have a chance to express if nothing else. Whether the brand owner agrees or not is another matter.

After 3 minutes, I had to turn it off. This is utter garbage. Whoever thought this was a good idea should go to hell. I'm all for an adult Power Rangers, but dark and gritty has never equaled adult.
If nothing else, it should serve as an example. An example of what NOT to do. Quote:

The Know did a story on it now. I knew when Den posted about him saying it's like him drawing a picture on a napkin.. and somehow it's even bigger BS seeing it written down.

Yet you just know that if somebody were to release a grimdark and gritty "parody" of Lazer Team tomorrow, they'd be pissed as fuck.

Actually they came down pretty in the middle more than anything. What they did was try and explain parody laws using Let's Plays as an example.
