I think you're missing the point of a dumb name is a dumb name, even if it's a real word...

That doesn't make any sense.

I don't think you know what "sounds dumb" means. It means the meaning behind it is irrelevant because it sounds stupid.

Then again, virtually every single Digimon has a dumb name since it's just "normal word" with "mon" at the end, so I can't blame you for not bing able to tell the difference when you kind of have to accept stupid sounding names to be a Digimon fan.

I was making a joke, and I don't feel tri is the dumbest name possible. It's not something like revengance or genysis, so I'm not as annoyed by it as you or Split Lip are.

As for relevance, they made freaking Hagurumon one of the player's starter Digimon in Cyber Sleuth, so really nothings to keep Sukamon or Numemon from the limelight if Toei was bored that day.

And yeah, considering this a series with about as much imagination as the original Megaman series in regards to naming, I was simply curious about your dislike of this season's name. I didn't have any opinion on it before coming to this forum, and I still don't. There have literally been tons of dumber names in the history of fiction.

And Sukamon and Numemon are known in show and various games for tossing shit as an attack, so my "Digimon Poo" comment isn't as senseless as you're making it out to be.

I'll admit my "It's not like this is the first time "Tri" has been used as a word" was rude and my line"despite your joke" wasn't the most polite way to end if off, so for being confrontational I apologize.

But I didn't say anything about you not knowing what tri means. ^You said it, so I took that to mean you literally didn't know since it's what you wrote and I thought I'd give a reason why, as it is the third season to focus on the Adventure crew. I didn't go and say that you're "not able to tell the difference", I just tried to give my take on why the season's named such. It's not like I love the name and hate the idea of anyone having a problem with it, but I just thought I'd play devil's advocate. Sorry for not getting what you meant.

As for the "Poo" thing, you brought up the name in comparison to how stupid you found tri to be as a name and considered poo to be equal to it, and since Digimon actually has you manage your mon's waste in some games, and at least two Digimon are known for tossing said waste as an attack, I found it funny enough that the name you chose at random would make more sense with Digimon as a dumb idea for a spin-off than any other series off the top of my head. I wasn't applying real-world logic to the name, because I wan't treating it serious enough to consider it possible for a season, anymore so than you. If that didn't come across in my post, that's my bad.

I have no strong attachments to the name tri, but it's not like they went and called it "Digimon Adventure 1 1/2" (though considering who they're omitting, they might as well have).
