My background is black poster board from Walmart. I edit the pictures in the GIMP and use the Adjust Color Levels screen to darken or lighten it up, as needed.

gogglev's pics are much better than mine, we should ask how he does it.

I'm sure he'll chime in, but we've actually discussed this He uses flashes. I was just curious if you had a similar setup or used a certain type of backdrop.

I have a cheap lightbox I bought on eBay, and two lamps for lighting. I've been experimenting with how far from the sides of the box the lamps should be to soften the light, and darken the backdrop (especially with Renewal Kuuga, he's so shiny he reflects the sides of the lightbox), but no flashes.
