When I get mine I'll try and post some pics for everyone...granted they will be shot with a phone camera but hey better than nothing.

Well I have a light box, but I use poster board for a backdrop. I'll have to go to Michael's one day and look at some cloth.

If you have a fabric store, like a Joann's Fabric, they'll almost always have black velvet. It runs about 20 bucks a yard but, like Michael's, they usually have a coupon online available. Like this one. Using a lower ISO will garner better results, I also use a lower wattage bulb and increase my f-stop and exposure time (given that I'm not half @$$ing it with my phone's camera).
