That was a pretty good episode. Even with the sonic sunglasses

The characters are likeable, and having ghosts as the villains seems pretty apt, given that we've just hit October. And I'm always happy to see a base under seige again.

Classic Doctor Who was always serialized. The average length was four episodes, although six wasn't uncommon. If you think two-parters drive you crazy, though, imagine trying to watch The War Games as it aired; that's a single story split across ten weekly installments.

I like that he only used the sunglasses because he needed a camera. On the whole, I'm very pleased to see so little of the sonic screwdriver this season. It's become such an omnipotent magic wand over the last few years and it's refreshing to see the Doctor getting by without it again.

Imagine watching Trail of a Time Lord- fourteen weekly, serialised episodes, and it still doesn't make any sense at the end of it

Agreed. I actually didn't mind them that much this time around. Or maybe I'm just getting complacent in my hatred. Who knows?

I can deal with the sunglasses if they're going to be used in such a limited fashion and for good reasons. Anything over the ridiculous use of the screwdriver now.

Big Finish continues to be the greatest thing to happen to Doctor Who.
