I've been interested in the 1/100 since it was revealed.

Watched the first episode as well. I’m no Gundam-person, only watched Build Fighters Try and the first few episodes of Recogusta … Recogniesta… Recogablesta… Recobeshista… this stupid shit show, you know what I mean.
And well, this was way better than this Reco shit. As it seems to be tradition in Gundam I as the viewer am thrown into the cold water and people talk about stuff I don’t understand, but hey… tanks, explosions, excitement. They didn’t drop me as hard as Reco did, only a few sentences here and there, but I still feel like this show needed 5 minutes of narrated text to begin with. Which would be boring as hell, but at least I wouldn’t feel like I don’t understand stuff. And I’m pretty sure this will never lead to an “Oh, wait that’s what they were talking about in the last episode”-moment because I won’t remember. The characters are… nice I guess, didn’t had enough time to form an opinion yet. The action was decent, nothing spectacular; I guess that starts when we see the Gundam in action. Which probably won’t happen for another three episodes or so since I’m sure after beating the one bad guy at the end of this episode the other two will retreat within the first minute of the next episode and that’s it. Guess I continue watching. Yes. Very much yes. And all other Barbatos forms. And McGillis' suit. I dunno, the whole MGSV Quiet controversy came to mind and I was wondering if people were gonna rail IBO for that for "unnecessary sex appeal". Last edited by Powerman293; 10-04-2015 at 03:22 PM.. |

if it's fine with Stefanie Joosten, then it should be fine for everyone.

I like the setting so far, it's going for a really gritty style so far, but at least it's well handled and the art is pretty dang good, I love how MS are rare so far, as the mobile workers give the battles an unique style.
Does raise the question, why would the higher ups just leave the Barbatos behind? Their forces are clearly made mostly of Workers, the Barbatos might be incomplete and given how the pilot looked at the end it might not even be safe, but it must have been expensive as hell. Unless somehow it was built in secret by the main cast. Quote:

She's far more interesting that Relena so far. ![]() Hammer time and all that, relying on mass is good enough for the technology setting they seem to have so far. |

Barbatos was a MS found way back when from when one of the first wars ended in this Universe. So it wasn't made or funded by the workers we know now, on top of that going back to a few Gundam blogs, Barbatos doesn't even act as a MS while at the base, but instead acts as a power generator. More than likely the main characters just kept a high maintenance on Barbatos since knowing they might use the MS one day. Which then leads into as why the higher ups didn't give a rats crap about a MS they thought that just acted as a fancy battery, and was highly degraded.

I don't understand a substantial part of the episode, but I gathered that Barbatos was kept as a secret by the Third Group.

Maybe, they never were very explicit about the ahab wave.
