How does the theme and motif work for Super Sentai teams? I mean how do they come up the idea like for example, Ninja, Animals and Shape for Kakuranger? Is there a website where I can research these kind of ideas for Super Sentai themes and motifs?

I have no idea, but I am pretty sure Bandai has some sort of a say in it so they can design toys around the theme.

They probably assign a producer and writer, then they think of a motif they haven't done/haven't done in a while, and build a story around that. Or it could be as random as throwing a dart at a dart board with ideas written on it, lol. I really don't think there is anywhere to reference for confirmation on how new motifs are chosen, but I could be wrong.

I have two questions.

1. When do you think we'll start getting previews for the next Sentai series? Like suit designs, name, etc? I haven't been in the game long and I don't remember when the Ninninger rumors started

2. Working on a Sentai cosplay, any idea what kind of boots I should use and where to get them?

The trademarked name of the next sentai is called Dobustu Sentai Jyuuohger. Dobustu has to do with animals so I assume it will be an animal themed sentai in the vein of Gaoranger.

And hopefully the toys will be smooth and organic-looking like the Gao (and Geki) toys. I want some more organic animals. Goseiger, as much as I like it, was very mechanical, Go-Busters was mechanical, Kyoryuger was rather mechanical and every animal in NinNinja is mechanical.

I prefer my beast bots smooth.

I like mechanical looking animal mechs, but it'll be nice to have some variety.

Personally, I always went with bootcovers so far. Get a pair of shoes in the color you want to use and create the leg out of fake leather or any other suitable material- it's much cheaper than buying actual boots and you can just pull them over.

(To give you an example, here's a photo of my Yayoi cosplay. The boots are normal court shoes and bootcovers with a gummi strap to fasten them on the shoe and a zipper for the leg)

The "Jyuu" also stands for Animal, it's the same as in Zyuranger, Jyuken Sentai and Zyuden Sentai (even though the romanization varies)

Around the first week of December we'll get unofficial image leaks of the suit. Sometime shortly after that, we'll get official images and confirmation of the creative team. Then, the press conference announcing the cast/crew usually happens around Christmas.

The prevailing fan assumption is that Dobutsu Sentai Jyuuohger translates to Animal Sentai BeastKing-ger. There have also been theories that the show will have a "gun" or "bullet"-based gimmick, based on Jyuu meaning "gun" as well as "beast" in Japanese.
