Oh shit! Low rent Char might finally show up in canon? Cool! I've been looking on Gundam wiki, but I haven't seen him as being in Thunderbolt as a character (at least in the manga).
I hope though that Ridden being there doesn't bring the entirety of Mobile Suit Variations with him because good god a lot of the stuff in those stories are stupid. If you take all of MSV into account, there would apparently be 7 or 8 versions of the RX-78 running around. Not counting the Alex or the Thunderbolt. And that would be really dumb as a lot of the original MSG's tension/plot revolved around delivering the RX-78 back to home base. So having 6-7 other ones would diminish it. Random thought but: What if Vertical's next Gundam manga project is translating Thunderbolt to coincide with the anime? And yeah Johnny, or as you'd know him at this point in his life, Led Wayline, was in MSV-R The Return of Johnny Ridden. Which takes place in UC 0090. Amnesiac after the final Battle of A Baoa Qu, Johnny (Led) joined the Federation as a survey member examining mobile weapons of the One Year War era. Oddly he was even part of a task force that was looking for him! The types of mobile weapons he studied included those from Thunderbolt as far as I know as well. It opens up the door that he could be in this show in some capacity for flashbacks. That's my hope at the very least. And Johnny could very easily have been present for the battles in Thunderbolt as well. He was kind of all over the place during the OYW.

God I would kill for that. Always wanted to read Thunderbolt, would love to own it officially.

Of course Japan would have its analog of the Parents Television Council to try and remove everything that normal people can enjoy. Though adopting a TV rating system like we have in the States might help point out what's for kids and what is meant for adults like IBO. |

Like in terms of the animation quality? Because it's kind of impossible to go back and make something that looks exactly as shitty as 0079 now the way it was originally made.
Or just overall art style? Because this to me is just fine. It's actually kinda similar to Unicorn but with more badassery added to it.

Yup. You can't market a show to kids and then pull the crap they're pulling with Mika. He's a pretty horrific character even for adult audiences.

Yeah the stuff I've heard about him is why I haven't watched IBO it seems a bit too dark for Gundam.*and this is coming from a guy who likes Zeta and Victory*

He's basically a character with absolutely no moral compass who will happily murder people in cold blood if his friend simply tells him to. It's pretty discomforting to watch, but I'm assuming the show is actually going to go somewhere with how self-destructive that relationship is.

Yeah, Mika can be a sociopath, but we have to realize Orga is also just as much a main character as Mika. I have a feeling that Mika will be confronted about this, but I also feel its not gonna be that important considering the Martian plight is the main focus.
