Gai's death is amazing, and one of the best moments in sentai history. It's senseless and random and brutal and sad... just like death in real life. You're supposed to feel mad, MadRyu, because death is infuriating.
Gai is the most human of all the sentai heroes, so it's thematically fitting (and downright poetic) that he'd would go out in such a mundane way. Last edited by Kamen Rider Lucha; 12-08-2015 at 01:41 PM.. |

Um guys...
I was being sarcastic. I still do think it was messed up that he would go to a wedding and ruin their moment by dying, but I know why he did it. |

It would have been ruined no matter what. Having one of your best friends getting killed on your wedding day is heartbreaking for someone. It deos t matter if he dies at a hospital or on a bench.

You dont know that. A lot of people die from stabbing wounds even if they manage to get to a hospital. And since this is a fictional scenario about a fictional character there would be no chance that he could survive this even if he got treatment. The authors intent was to have Gai die from his wound. So he did. No matter what decision Gai would have made, he would have been killed since that was his intended end goal as a character.

Besides, Gai has superpowers...you'd think with proper medical treatment he could survive a stab wound. Unless of course it got him in a vital place and he knew he wouldn't last, but I don't see Gai as being the type of person to really tell if a stab wound will be fatal or not.

It doesn't really matter since Gai never would've gone to the hospital. He had a very important place to be so he'd go regardless.

It's more of a "he probably wouldn't have died if he was smart and went to the hospital" type deal. I'm sure Ryu would have been fine with him missing the wedding if it meant he didn't die.

Naturally, Gai probably would've survived if he went to the hospital. Stab wounds are dangerous, but it takes a lot of stabs to kill someone with no chance of survival, unless you pierce something super vital on the first shot. But his own personality kept him because he had a wedding to attend, that being of his best friend and the love of his life, so while everyone would've been fine with him missing it, he wouldn't have been.
