Pacific Rim 2 is officially un-cancelled. Del Toro won't be directing, though - the man in the big chair is going to be the showrunner from season one of Daredevil.

Steven DeKnight is directing? Hells yeah. I would have preferred Del Totoro but DeKnight is a great replacement.

I hope del Toro's OK with not directing; otherwise it sounds like yet another way he's been screwed over by this film.

He said on twitter that he is thrilled to see DeKnight as the new director and is still working with him on the ideas of the film.
