IMO Everyone is just overreacting. Its just a way to provoke fans and get them talking about the issue as well as an attempt to keep people past issue 1. Steve is playing hydra for fools here plain and simple. Who would be a better mole than the man how has literally spent most of his adult life fighting HYDRA? It's called a long con and honestly I'd like to see where this goes

It's certainly that, but the execution is what everyone's probably insulting. That and Marvel for doing it and thinking it's a good idea.

While I totally believe it's just the Red Skull fucking with his memories using Xavier's brain, a friend of mine pointed out it shits all over what the original Jewish creators intended for Cap, by basically making him think he's an original Nazi (he's from 1940, calling him a Neo-Nazi would be a bit weird).

There's a difference between Snyder choosing the have Clark kill Zod quicker than he did in the comics or in the original Superman II film, and literally having Cap seen to have been a sleeper agent for his supposed enemies all along.

It would be Snydering Captain America is Snyder made Superman Lex's long lost space brother and he deliberately attacked Gotham and Metropolis, instead of destruction just being caused because he happens to be fighting there.
