I have no problem with The Watchmen bit being there. It works that Adrian would be the one who used Pandora to screw up the DC universe. They're still their own universe, he just discovered the multiverse, which is something he would do. As for the scarab, I don't see how they retconned anything. Ted never became the Beetle in the N52 and he was never killed, so I don't see why working with Jaime is a problem. I'm really interested in seing where they run with it. Oh, and making there be two Wallys is fine with me. Iris was white in the N52, so having a black Wally West just appear out of nowhere didn't make sense so Johns just made it make sense.

Honestly, it would've made for s stronger story to have the New 52 Wally West be the Wally West of Prime Earth. Pre-Flashpoint Wally West would then have to deal with the fact that he DOES exist in this universe, meaning that Linda couldn't be his lightning rod because he wasn't HER Wally. Two versions of the same person existing in the same universe--yet pre-Flashpoint Wally can't be a tangible part of the universe. He's not just forgotten. He's been replaced. So why does he exist in that horrible state when there are two versions of Clark Kent running around in the DC Universe? And that's another thing--why didn't he try to appear in front of Clark White (preFlashpoint Superman)? He'd actually have a shot at being remembered by Clark White because they came from the same universe. |

From a narrative perspective, I liked the Watchmen twist. I see your point about its inclusion, though.
What bothered me about the Scarab thing was that Khalid Nassour has been Doctor Fate since June of last year, and the Doctor Fate that showed up in that story probably wasn't Khalid Nassour. I like Khalid. I like him a lot. I'm definitely biased because he's a character from an Islamic background, but I still like Khalid. And they're not using Khalid. I had problems with the N52 Spectre. To me, Jim had his story, he had his beautifully written end with John Ostrander's run. And it's so rare for a comic character to feel like their story is complete, it's done. It was time for Allen to carry on. I love legacies of characters, but that doesn't mean I expect or want those characters around forever. The mantle should be passed onward, or their influence felt.(Pre-N52 Blue Beetle is a perfect example) Likewise, Spectre and Doctor Fate are perfect for something like that. I mean their entire mythology is based around someone taking it up. |

I completely understand that, but I'm hoping it's was him. Actually it was something that popped into my head when rebirth was announced. Which was that characters people grew attached to would be erased or pushed aside...one of the problems the N52 had.

The latter. There's been enough of the former.

It made plenty of sense. But that decision just felt like a cop-out.

The pre-Flashpoint Superman. The one who helped prevent Crisis on Infinite Earths in Convergence then he, his Lois, and their son arrived in the New 52 Universe and took the surname 'White' to distinguish themselves from their New 52 counterparts (mainly because New 52 Superman had his secret identity revealed) and not raise suspicion I guess

I know that Kent Nelson is going to show up in Khalid's book, but yeah. I couldn't agree more. I like Kent, but it's Khalid's turn, now.
Although it'd be nice for Earth 2: Society to address whatever happened to Khalid Ben-Hassin. |

To me, Kent is the only Dr Fate.
