...Really?
And they would never do that. I wasn't even aware Sega did something like that; it doesn't make any sense to me from a business standpoint. Not that it's relevant because they're not Nintendo. This was an unlicensed product that they did not make and to then sell it would only weaken their rights to the IP, encouraging others to ignore and break laws with their own projects (potentially for profit because "this other one can"), and there's no benefit to them. This is not difficult to understand.

Remember when Capcom published a fanmade Mega Man game? That was their only "Celebration" for the Blue Bomber's anniversary. Nothing else. They didn’t care, someone made something good, they took it and advertised themselves as a fanbase loving bunch who love Mega Man. Facepalm. And Sega? Sega needs to allow the few fans they still have to do what they want, and with the most recently announced classic Sonic game they even hired people out of the community because they have no idea how to do shit properly anymore. Pokémon goes way too well in order to even think about endorsing or hell, even publishing rip-offs. Because no matter how extensive the ideas, these fans use trademarked names, concepts and in most cases official assets from the games. How can you expect to publish something like this, free or not, and expect to not get blown up? |

Am I the only one who isn't surprised?
It's copyright infringement. Just because they're giving it out for free doesn't change that they're marketing a product with a license they don't own. Nintendo isn't being money grubbing tyrants. Pokemon is their second most valuable IP, and they don't even have full ownership of it. They're not going to be okay with this. You don't release your ambitious fan product 3 months before Nintendo's new, big Pokemon titles and then expect them to be totally okay with it. People need to stop acting like every move a corporation makes is just them being evil and greedy, like this is some kind of movie... |

So I've finished with the dex and now I'm breeding a buncha mons. Want some more shinies.
Was running around route 7 looking for a white Flabebe so I could get one in a Luxury Ball, and I ran into something a little more interesting: a shiny yellow Flabebe! Which is pretty awesome. This is actually the only shiny random encounter (without other boosted chances) I've gotten since I got the Shiny Charm all those years ago, and only my second one overall. And my first was a Lunatone so this is a lot better. |

Oh yeah, acknowledge rip-off’s and publish them, that will go well for you. The difference between Nintendo and Capcom/Sega is that the later don’t give a rat’s ass about some of their IP's anymore.
