The only time I go to Nihon is if they are the best option available. For example, do I suffer the piss poor quality of Agito that MFC has put out or do I go with Nihon's superior video quality despite the average translations? In this case, I would rather go with Nihon. Oh, and they are the only ones to have Hibiki, Kiva, and Gekiranger fully subbed.

Well considering MFC haven't even subbed Agito, I imagine you don't suffer anything.

For their Dekaranger and Gekiranger subs they didn't even translate Japanese plurals (included the -tachi suffix). That's just bad localization. I only use them if there isn't another decent option.

was it Midnight Crew? They're usually [MC] or [M-C] when they identify themselves in torrents. I downloaded their Kuuga subs.

Yes, it was Midnight Crew. I believe I also have their Kuuga subs, which were also in horrid quality and they never bothered to sub the Grongi dialog.

The Gurongi language is only subtitled when they speak Japanese, which is how it was done when Kuuga first aired on TV. Their language is actually a riddle which could be solved, although since Toei didn’t choose to subtitle it they couldn’t progress the story through it so most of what they have to say in their language is completely pointless.
Complete subtitles were done only for the DVD release as an option, so you don’t miss anything if it isn’t subbed; it's actually supposed to be this way. Also, can someone tell me why this thread is still a thing? |
