Doesn't Tai appear at the end of Xros Wars? I'd imagine that maybe a factor in, like Sentai said, not shortening it just down to Tai again.

Every previous Digidestined makes a shadowed cameo in part 3 of Xros Wars, but Tai, Matt, Mimi, Rika, Joe, Davis, Ken, Takuya, Takato, Marcus are all seen and they (minus Mimi and Rika) speak.

I'll be honest, I didn't like Frontier much either. I set a side a whole month to watch all five season that have been dubbed after seeing JesuOtaku Adventure retrospective. After finished the first two seasons and the masterpiece that is Tamers, I reached Frontier and wasn't looking forward to it because I remember it as the point that I stopped watching Digimon.

Frontier and I got off to a rocky start, then around episode 35 or so I started to enjoy it. For what it is, it's not terrible. As for Data Squad... let's just say I know why it was called "Savers" in Japan.

But when I rewatched Tamers, I decided to stop there. I realized that no series was going to live up to it.
