I'm not trying to shit on the movie because it's the in thing to do. I'm not going to judge this book by it's cover when it actually comes out. But so far, all the back of the book blurbs aren't giving me any hope.

The only way to solve this is by painting this other mecha t-rex red and sell it
![]() Again I am waiting for a better quality version on par with the legacy line to show up, meaning a slightly pricier rendition that has more details

The first didn't receive any real hate outside of Geewunners until the second came out and trashing the movies became the popular thing to do. Dark of the Moon's biggest problem was being a bit overbloated. It had a really nice, dark atmosphere to it, and the Chicago invasion was a genuinely chilling sequence. There were some great fight scenes, some really cool designs, and while the humor was still hit or miss, it had some good moments. Age of Extinction was a huge step in the right direction. Marky Mark was a perfect casting choice, this is him doing what he does best and the humor really worked with him in this (the whole exchange after they escape from Lockdown's ship was hilarious). The bots had really distinct and well performed personalities, John Goodman was a perfect Hound. Again, we got some great fights or action scenes. Moments like Ratchet's execution were suitably brutal. The dinobots were a bit underutilized, but it was still nice seeing them. Again, the first movie was a very solid film overall. Few things compare to seeing Blackout transforming on screen for the very first time or the Autobots assembling and transforming for the first time, that still gives me chills. Revenge of the Fallen, I disagree with a lot of the complaints, stuff like the twins for instance (remember when our first reaction to seeing their leaked designs was "inbred rednecks" and not "black stereotypes"?). Some interesting ideas were adapted and given a cool new take, such as the seekers, Jetfire's origin, the Fallen. And Devastator was an absolute spectacle in IMAX. But I do agree that overall it was the weakest film in the series.

All in all I'm still looking forward to the movie.
I think what I'm not liking about the toy is the sheer amount of molded detailing. It's all a solid red, and the waveyness clashes together to mess with my eyes. More color on it would make it look a lot better. I just noticed that the BBTS page mentions that the megazord it's a part of is 24" tall, which will be interesting. My major complaint with AoE was just how long it was. It's ending, then it's not, and again and again. I just got bored after a while. |

Except they aren't.

And regarding ROTF most of the hate for that movie didn't come from Geewunners but people who hated the human protagonists getting the lion's share of the screen-time over the Bots with a generic teen romance plot, the racist stereotypes and the toilet humor and AOE also got a lot of hate for it's plot's edginess. |

The BBTS listing has absolutely sold me on the t-rex zord. It won't be cheap, but the Megazord sounds like it'll be worth completing. Especially with it having electronics and being two feet tall when combined. Should be interesting to see how the rest of the DX zords turn out.

TBH, while I do get why some people hate the design, I like it, and I'm definitely going to be picking these up.
