Karen needs to go ASAP. I'm fine with the suit being Stark tech, I can deal with his vision being like a readout, but the AI crap was just too much. It said a lot that the best scenes were the ones where he used the homemade suit, because that's exactly what Spider-Man should be. He doesn't need all the tech because he's smart enough to do it himself. Now if the point of it all was simply to prove he didn't need the suit and in the next film he has the proper suit but without Karen and all the tech bits (ie he comes up with all the web stuff himself rather than have it handed to him) then great, job done. But it really shouldn't stick around for the sequel. There's a double edged sword to this. People said they were tired of seeing the same thing done, so they did something different, and now people are saying it was too different. I think Karen's use in this movie made sense. It's something Tony would do, but after Peter proved he could handle these situations by himself when he didn't have the suit, I could see it being removed from this point forward. |

I was confused by the timeline placement in the new Spider-Man movie. If 8 years has pass since The Avengers, does The Avengers take place in 2009 or does Spider-Man now take place in 2020?

Avengers is in 2009. Iron Man is 2008, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Avengers are all 2009. The weird time jump ends up between Winter Soldier and Civil War as like five years pass between the two movies.

Sony confused me. A Venom comedy? I don't think that could work, people don't like Eddie Brock because he's funny, but because he's a goddamn savage monster Also some people talked about Spider Sense and I found this. http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/07/...sts-in-the-mcu

Apologies in advance for how pretty much all of this is going to be blocks of spoiler text?

Here's the way I look at it. Do you really need to see his spider sense activate every time? We saw him use it in Civil War, so it's there, they just didn't emphasize it. Now with that said, I do think showing it go off just before the Vulture reveal scene would have helped.
I read Feige supposedly indicated that its something he might grow into in future films in which case great, but it's something I think is just genuinely lacking from Spidey films in general (and if is there it isn't very blatant, honestly the only one I can really remember it from is the first Raimi film). I have the same problem with the later X-Men films never really utilising Wolverine's heightened senses. It's just "claws and healing" half the time. EDIT: Yes I know its in Civil War, I meant solo Spidey movies Quote:

![]() Yeah as I say if this is a one and done thing I can totally go for it. I'd be fine with the AI and web shooters here giving Peter the inspiration to come up with all these things for himself (I REALLY want to see him spin a web parachute, I always loved those scenes in the 90s cartoon). But if they turn around and go "hey Karen worked really well in this movie, let's keep her!" then it doesn't work for me at all. I don't want to see Spider-Man have all his gadgets pre-made for him or have all this spy-tech built into his suit. I want to see him use that intelligence and do it all for himself.

To be fair, Peter's not exactly rich, the reason why this incarnation's old suit was so well received was because it's what someone with a limited income would end up making, I still remember some people calling foul at Reimi's Parker making the suit despite being poor, cosplayers went nuts especially lol. But yeah, as someone who liked Karen and the high tech shit, I won't miss it if it's gone as it's not really Spidey

Saw Homecoming.
- I love the whole vlog bit in the beginning. - Loved the easter eggs such as Aaron Davis and his nephew, the Ben Reilly-ish Avengers debut suit, etc. - My spidey sense tells me that there will be people who will try to re-create the homebrew spidey suit for the cons and halloween this year - I love how they made Flash a snobby elitist nerd instead of trying to have him be generic and played-out bully jock - Vulture was just AWESOME, The wings, the whole costume was on point and gave me a newfound interest in the Vulture character - Michelle was funny whenever she pops up - Hoped to see Vision do a quick cameo at the Avengers HQ but no big deal Overall, this definitely is the definitive Spider-Man movie.
