As far as recap episodes go this one wasn't too bad, in fact, the "Ultimate Invaders" Jark Sentai Go-Invader was pretty funny.

Also, wasn't that the same CGI Tyrannosaurus Rex model they used in Kyoryuger?

This was the first episode in a while not to be written by Nobuhiro Mouri and you can kinda tell. Although not in a bad way! The budget saving, silly actual plot and the budget saving recap stuff were balanced pretty nicely, and frankly given Kyuranger's giant cast and frequent space-faring adventures it's honestly surprising it took them this long to do an episode like this to begin with. I expect at least one more around New Year's.

Also I guess Lucky holds the team together a lot more than you'd think considering his group is shown calmly chatting it up while everyone in the past group has turned into bumbling, crazy parodies of themselves.

Obviously they'll pull it together once the Plot starts happening though.

This episode was like Xiao Longbao's back. A bad cramping pain.

However, it does bring up an immediate question of every Sentai series. If you take off their masks do they stop talking in squeaks?

Not bad, provided some funny moments. At the end of the day though, it's still just a recap episode so there's not much you can do aside from characters reflecting on past events. I gotta wonder though, what exactly is the reason budget wise for why Sentai tends to have at least one recap episode per show unlike Kamen Rider which rarely have any? Do they not put as much money into Sentai or is it the opposite where Sentai actually cost more money to produce?
