Cheetahs have a distinctive marking on their face starting from the inside of the eyes to the jaw that jaguars and leopards do not have. Plus that and a number of spots on its forehead in the case of Red Buster's helmet which has both. Seems cheetah enough for me.

That and the fact the Buddyroid is Chida Nick and not Hyō Nick or something.

Besides, given there is a lot of stock footage of Red running superduper fast, I don’t think Hasbro is going to call this very fast cat a jaguar when jaguars aren’t synonymous with speed.
