I liked Amazons. It got a bit more nonsensical than I thought it would (junkyard episode, anyone?) and didn't bother to explain what 'Amazon cells' were in the least but, overall, I enjoyed it.

I'm hoping they tie the cell origin into the Showa era character in some manner from for season two.

Actually they did explain, to a small degree, what the Amazon Cells were.

Totally don't remember that happening - must have had some black CGI blood in my eyes!
