We didn't even find out about Great Cross-Z from scans though, it was shown in preview pictures after episode 36.

Easy repaints are no brainers for quick releases. I'm sure Magma will come, likely as a direct result of revenue generated by this massively easy reuse of a pre-existing mold. This can only be good for Magma's chances.

I suspect Great Cross-Z is the result of loud outcry over Banjou's terrific first form being replaced by Charge. That is, Bandai eventually figured out that the original Cross-Z was a beloved (and thus, marketable) design, so decided to reiterate it as an upgrade with few changes. (Admittedly, I think the helmet color changes are for the worse.) I think they were *trying* to please fans, at least, and maybe underestimated that people would love Magma enough to nearly forgive the original suit swap.
