There's potential for it, but as things stand right now, it seems American children's programming is more about comedy, rather than action. I think, aside from Power Rangers, the only consistent action show is Ninja Turtles.
Maybe once a new wave of action shows prove profitable once again, we could see some original toku series.

Is there a specific service which streams classic Godzilla? Will the upcoming HBO Max have classic Toho Godzilla?

I doubt it with Criterion owning the Showa movies. Sony still has the Godzilla movies from 1991-2004 and you can easily find them cheap as dirt.

Saban did, and it turned out pretty good, so I don't see why not. Especially since BM shows that Hasbro has far more budget for such things.

Not sure where else to ask this, so I'll do it here.
I haven't really seen any threads where people discuss Toku anime at length, which I find a shame, because a couple of them are some of my favorite anime of all time. So, would anyone be down for a thread similar to what Die and Fish do, but for Toku anime specifically? I'm not exactly great with words, but I figure I could give it a shot, maybe show atleast one person why it's worth checking other stuff out than the "Holy Trinity" of Toku, so to speak. Or, nah, should I just keep that stuff in the "Other Toku You're Watching" thread, if we even have one of those? |
