Yay? Great that it's back but wasn't the corporate backing what helped make it so great? Even with the same ppl, it may feel like a husk of its formers self compared to it's glory days. It feels like its lost its place and this comeback feels pointless. If its just another unofficial con, there are already like 6 established unofficial cons that are great. What made botcon speicial was the official merch only at the cons and their tie-ins.

You are not wrong! Most people put up with BotCon and its organizers because it was the only place to get official merch. (All of that official merch is what's now Generations Selects, available for about a third of what you'd pay at Botcon and way less limited.) Without that, BotCon is basically TFCon, but run by people who squandered the community's goodwill. Not saying the new BotCon will be bad, or won't have some cool exclusives, but it's working with a lot less advantages than it used to have.

Exactly, i remember hitting up botcon in '09. The movies were in full swing, the stuff there was great, but the lines were fucking terrible and the management was haphazard at best. The venue, guests and exclusives were cool, but that was it. It was a whole ordeal to go from nyc to the venue to put up with all that just for sweet, sweet merch.

Generation selects is great, i can't wait till my cordon and spinout get here, and that hotshot was a great use of the Hound mold.

I'm by no means a Transformers guy, but I just saw a review of MMC's' Vexo Prominon and ooo man is that a tempting buy. I feel like he'd go great with Leopardon.

That said, if Hasbro or any other notable 3rd party company ever remembers that Armada Hot Shot exists, someone notify me immediately.

I mean considering, i believe two 3p companies are making their takes on armada prime w/ super mode trailer, i think you could possibly see a hotshot some time soon if those do well.

One super mode prime was called navy commander, idk about the other one. i believe the other one was legends scale.

I was too late to grab that Vexo, and it's a bummer. (I haven't checked to see if anyone's reoffered him, so maybe I'll do that next.) I picked up their Aero Alpha Asterisk a few years back at a TFCon, and it's a great figure. It's the same mold as Vexo, I believe, so you won't be disappointed if you can track one down. That deco is sweet!

Considering Cybertron Hot Shot got a new figure (Retool of Hound, but still), it's entirely possible at this point.
