So might find out what the new Pokemon game for this year will be tomorrow with the Nintendo Direct.. I am already placing money down that it is going to be shit.

I like megas but as long as the game is good then I am fine without them.

No. I’d like to be able to bring all my Shinies to the Switch AND be able to Mega Evolve them

Which is understandable, but don't you think this limits the kind of gameplay that you can build a story around? When you're trying to create a story that hits dramatic beats but you have to accommodate the player possibly having a Lv100 Legendary Whatever then wouldn't you agree it takes the dramatic tension out of the narrative? I say this as the kind of person who obsessively levels up characters in games to the point that many end game boss fights are pointless, but I also acknowledge that this is not the way in way in which you are intended to experience the story.

I don't wish to tell you how to enjoy a game, and I don't want to sound like I was a big fan of Sword/Shield but I always found this whole National Dex reaction to be bewildering. It's like there is an audience that is demanding a new game, but doesn't want to play a new game.

And I’m stating my points as quite possibly one of the most hardcore Shiny Hunters ever, having my collection span from Platinum onwards, and spending so much time amassing this collection I even maxed out every in-game clock since Gen 6 (plus a complete collection of Mega Stones & Blue/Red Orbs). I don’t want all that time and effort I spent be for nothing.

But, umm, maybe it is? I mean, please feel free to ignore me, but because the later games are clearly not built to accommodate such OP characters, you're kind of working against the system.

I was a lot more sympathetic when I thought you wanted to keep your characters out of empathy for what these little animal sprites mean to you, but, ah, if you just want what is essentially a cheat mode, you might have to accept that you are at odds with the philosophy of the game design and you will never be happy with future releases—but still, you've got to find your fun sometimes, I guess, so you do you!

I do totally want Megas back, mind. They’re easily my favourite part of multiplayer for all the strategy and mind games they bring.
