The changer reminds me more of the Ultraman gadgets. Regarding the minimum of chocolate parts, I think this was done because they will be replaced when Valen receives an upgrade.

Yeah the "that sure is a shape" vibe definitely reminded me a bit of my initial reaction to the Arc Ariser so that's a good comparison I think

Would be cool to see the changer get some aesthetic changes for different upgrades

I mean, I like it a lot. Reminds me a bit of like, the alien weapons in Halo and similar stuff in terms of shape, and considering that Gavv is supposed to be an alien, maybe Valen's gun is stolen alien tech?

It's a mouth.

Just like Gavv's belt, except seen from the side instead of the front and long and narrow instead of wide. The "chocolate bar" details pull double-duty as teeth, and the lighter blue patch on top is an eye (which gives me a hunch that the gun will be a separate "living" creature, unlike Gavv's belt which is part of him). Looking closely, you'll see a seam between the top and bottom rows of chocolate "teeth" in the front, and round hinges where the gray barrels connect to the blue handle, so it seems like the gun will open up to "eat" Gochizous! The weird sticking-out bit on the front of the top barrel/jaw is probably a handle to open it up with.
