The MOTW Bakusou Kyoudai Jon & Bovi are nods to the band Bon Jovi and likely Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go, a hobby manga/anime from the 90s by Tamiya and Corocoro Comics.

I wasn't expecting Yaiyai Yarucar to get a whole focus episode and backstory, but I'm glad he did. Out of the 3 losers, he often showed the most potential and guts, like forcing Cannonborg to enlarge and take responsibility, seeing through Disrace's broken logic of blaming Boonboomger for Madwrecks' second death and being the most outspoken and critical, while the other two hold their tongues around higher ranks. Sometimes a loser is just someone who hasn't found their niche yet, so it's not too surprising to learn that Yaiyai is actually a prodigy and urban legend on his home planet.
It ends with a good moral that has me actually rooting for the 3 losers (until the GOAT Speedor shows up and then I'm not sure who I'm supposed to root for), who fight with their hearts while the cowardly elite Wayway aborted the mission as soon as the fight turned in the enemy's favor. Someone who only stays until the end if they know they'll win is the worst loser of all. Decotrade and Itasha encouraged Yaiyai to graduate from their crew and Yaiyai would rather stick with his crew than leave them at the mercy of Byunbyum Mach Robo. Despite being a bunch of incompetent villains, they're honorable and loyal to each other. I have to respect them for that. Good timing for Speedor to return in this episode, since Itasha previously compared him to Yaiyai, which the latter denied. Of course, he also just kind of comes out of nowhere with the reveal that he was pursuing Wayway the whole time and if you want to deduct points for being contrived, then I can't even think of a rebuttal. You'd be totally right. It's no secret that I'm a big Go-Onger fan, so I'll admit my thoughts on this sudden crossover are mostly subjective. His Gattai with Byunbyum Mach Robo is also confusing, since it was established in Engine lore that only Gian Race like Carrigator can Gattai with whatever he wants. This suggests to me that there is something special about Byundy's body, other than the meta reason of this being yet another plug for DX Robo Universe and not even the last. In addition, Bovi is short for Bovine, an ironic reference to his death by Grantz who has a cattle companion on his shoulder. Grantz's appearance and serious temperament reminds me of Gaiark's Kireizky.

Ah, yes. Grantz's companion does have that bison skull look to it now that you mention it.

This song proved wrong all the haters who said that Bon Jovi was just an 80s hair metal pretty boy trend.
