Next episode's preview has basically confirmed that Kuon is indeed Hoeru's long lost brother. While it's yet to be outright stated, Garyudo is most definitely Kuon's alter ego.

Speaking of Garyudo, it appears that his weapon is based on Bridan's queen, whose name is revealed to be Tega June!

Ring Update! Due to Gozyu Unicorn's second use of the Ryusoulger Ring, it is now the most popular Ring so far. Que Bom!

While Tyranno Ranger's collection appears to be less than Don Momotarou's, I think the power difference actually makes him pretty impressive. I can see Don Momotarou beating Kyoryu Red easily enough, but for Tyranno Ranger, the odds would've been against him and yet he somehow pulled it off.

However, there are two variables we should consider when it comes to these Ranger VS Ranger fights.

1) Additional abilities granted by Tega Sword. Stuff like Don Momotarou's origami and Tyranno Ranger's power to summon Daizyujin from the graveyard. For the sake of fairness, it would make sense to believe that Tega Sword gave the strongest abilities to the weakest Rangers and vice versa.

2) The skill difference between users. Like I said before, that shady prosecutor guy who became Ryusoul Red was a total loser. If Kyoryu Red was also a total loser, then it's plausible that Tyranno Ranger defeated him in skill rather than power. Osai Meguru is a Sentai archaeologist, so he may have had useful information about Kyoryu Red's strengths and weaknesses, allowing him to formulate a winning strat.

Okay, now to give my thoughts on the plot! I've seen some people compare this show to Donbrothers, with the whole Inoue connection and internal rivalry, even I can see it on the surface. However, I think this episode proves that Gozyuger has an important distinction. Despite being rivals, they are quick to unite as a team, they know each other's identities, they do a roll call, basic Sentai stuff that Donbrothers took over 40 episodes to learn. It's the perfect timing for this teamwork-focused episode to air on the weekend of the 50th anniversary!

There's a lot of cute little character development moments here. Ryugi offered Hoeru the crushed apple, since he's poor and feeding him is a good way to deter him from using Tega Sword as his personal garden. Hoeru said "Happy Sunshine!" without getting embarrassed, thanks to Tokonatsu's moral to him from the previous episode. For the omurice challenge, Hoeru shows strong leadership once more by convincing Ryugi and Kinjirou that it would be better for all of them to co-operate instead of compete for Osai's approval.

The Tokimeki No.1 Battle was humorous as hell, totally wasn't expecting those kabedons! Rikuo lives up to his reputation, giving maximum charisma output in every stage of the battle. With 2 out of 3 biased votes from Bouquet and Mr. Shining Knife, it's not like he even needed to try for the third vote, but that's just the professional kind of guy he is, as someone aiming to clear his name and become the No.1 Idol. This dude even successfully seduces Tokimeki No.1 in the final round, amazing!

While the previous episode suggested that Hoeru was the most prone to embarrassment, seems like it's actually Sumino here, with lines such as, (paraphrasing) "how do you act like that without cringing?" and "so we're calling ourselves No.1 Sentai now? How cringe." Honestly, I think she's being a little annoying with these phrases. We know she's at least 24 based on the fact that she was a high school student 8 years ago, so I don't expect her to sound like a stereotypical teen.

Like I said above, Osai is clearly a highly skilled and intelligent man, so I guess we can understand why the cowardly Garyudo chose to assassinate Tyranno Ranger instead of trying to fight him.

Don Momotarou is one of the strongest swordsmen. His Zanglassword has many more techniques than Kyoryu Red's Gaburicalibur, which isn't even his personal weapon. While in ranged combat, the Gaburucannon may hit harder than the Donblaster, it has lower fire rate and Don Momotarou has excellent speed and evasion, he could suddenly close the gap and Kyoryu Red would only have a small window to retaliate before getting hit. In this case, he'd need to punch, kick or block, since he won't be able to detach the sword from the gun quickly enough. Fortunately, hand-to-hand combat is his specialty, but again, timing is everything here and he's up against a much faster opponent. There's a chance that a skilled user could win with Kyoryu Red if they make clever use of Zyudenchi, but it won't be easy. That's unlikely the user that Tyranno Ranger fought though.
