The beginning of the episode returns to the pilot, with the difference that now instead of Hoeru, Mashiro Kumade saves the situation. He was formerly Gozu Wolf, who collected all the rings and saved the world. Now Marshiro Gozu Polar, who received the ring of the Prince of Destruction and established a connection with him.
It's funny that the situation in the store in miniature reveals the character and approach of our new hero: Mashiro does everything right, but expects payment. And also his dream to replace Tega Sword. Tega Sword himself walks around next to Hoeru, which is even more reminiscent of the previous show. Except that Tega Sword is invisible to those who do not wear rings. Tega Sword also explains that due to the lack of rings, the new world is not perfect, but simply different. This allows for the reuse of monster costumes, as well as the opportunity to show off familiar characters in new ways. However, this doesn't last long, as the entire team is back together by the end of the episode. Basically, most of the episode is dedicated to introducing and showing off Gozyu Polar's awesomeness. Not impressed with the costume, but the transformation is awesome. Anyway, I like these types of characters better as supporting characters. I'm excited to see what he and the Prince he calls Goode Burn bring to the ring battle. P.S. Not a fan of the new opening at all. It lacks the personality that this show has. |

Mashiro reminds me of Ace/Geats a lot in terms of introduction and for obvious reasons. I look forward to the episodes where we learn more about him and some of his flaws. Also, that Gozyu Polar theme song is a banger. Real clever Japanese wordplay too, The "You Be One" part being a pun on yubiwa (指輪), the Japanese word for ring, specifically the ring you put on your finger because the "yubi" part is Japanese for finger.
The way the opening clip is shot feels very anime than what we usually get in Super Sentai opening clips, like they were given freedom to experiement a lot with this one and it works for me. ![]()

That's what I'm thinking too for now. Either episode 17 gives us the old theme song back or this new one will be playing until Mashiro and the core team settle their differences.

I'm pretty sure the theme song will go back to normal. Remember, they're doing a lot of new things with this show. But he's still the sixth ranger.
