To build up to it, they did compilation movies for both shows that ended with an entirely new scene to lead into Universe.

The Gridman anthology ends with Yuta waking up and being greeted by Utsumi and Rikka.

And the Dynazenon movie ends with Koyomi disappearing from his bathtub mid-conversation with Chise.
